Barberton City Council members will vote to adopt the new Summit County 911 Plan and approve a $45,000 trail project grant at the July 8 meeting.
With the formation of the combined dispatch center between Barberton, Copley and Norton, each legislative body must approve the inclusion of the Southwest Summit Council of Governments (SWSCOG) into the amended 911 plan.
The $45,000 grant application to the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition is for the completion of the Barberton Downtown Connector Trail Project.
The grant reapplies for funding lost after construction funding fell through when the project was not completed in the required time frame.
Mayor Bill Judge announced that the Age Well Community Barberton website launched Monday is an initiative to connect the senior community to local information, resources and opportunities that pertain to its interests.
