Farmers Market, concert series in store for Barberton residents this month

Here are a few events going on around town this month, so mark your calendars.

Downtown Farmers Market

Barberton keeps the grocery shopping local from 2 -6 p.m. every Wednesday this summer with the Neighborhood Development Services Downtown Farmers’ Market. Find it on 3rd Street NW between West Park and West Tuscarawas displaying the freshest produce, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and more, plus gardening tips, cooking and vegetable carving demonstrations and a free market bag.

Lake Anna Concert Series

Grab a blanket or a chair and head to Lake Anna this summer month for the classics from Johnny Cash to the 50s and a little blues as the Concert in the Park series continues through July.

July 12: Terry Lee Goffee (Johnny Cash) from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

July 17: JD Eicher (Contemporary) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 7:30-8:30 p.m.

July 19: Pop Tarts (50s and 60s) from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

July 24: Swingin 78’s from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Glenn Miller Orch from 7-8 p.m.

July 26: Satisfaction (Rolling Stones) from 7:30- 8:30 p.m.

July 31: Mark Leach The Blue Collars (Country) from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Classic Cruise-In

Cruise through downtown Barberton July 18 to gaze at hot rods and classic antique cars from 5-8 p.m.on West Tuscarawas Ave.

22nd Annual Paint Your Heart Out

Lend a helping hand July 20 and join the Neighborhood Conservation Services of Barberton (NCS) and paint the exterior of homes owned by senior or disabled residents.

For volunteers, visit for the sponsorship form. To sponsor a home, donate food items for the breakfast and lunch, provide gift items for the afternoon raffle or make a cash donation to the event.
