Barberton: Crime Watch — Dec. 9

Arrest

A Frank Avenue girl, 17, was booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center on Nov. 27 with two counts of felonious assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, during an incident outside a 14th Street Northwest residence. Police said she kicked one officer in the groin during the arrest attempt and his $400 pair of prescription glasses were destroyed. A man, 18, who resides at the 14th Street address, was charged with obstructing official business.

Breaking and entering

Copper pipe and a deep sink were stolen from the basement of a vacant house on Diamond Avenue, the owner reported Nov. 26.

Theft

A woman in charge of finances for the Barberton Band Boosters Bingo on West Hopocan Avenue told police Nov. 27 that $3,041 is missing from between October and November.
