BARBERTON:  The Cleveland-Massillon Road/31st Street bridge over Hudson Run is scheduled to reopen Friday  morning.

The Summit County Engineer’s office said the new bridge, which has an additional lane and a sidewalk, will accommodate plans to widen the street in 2014 or 2015.

The major thoroughfare between Wooster Road in Barberton and Norton Avenue in Norton has been closed since Aug. 13.
Federal funding covered almost $700,000 of the $870,000 project, the engineer’s office said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on the bridge at 11 a.m. Friday.
